Nové poznatky z biologie rákosníčků (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Donaciinae) České republiky

Abstract: The aim of this work is to summarise new research results on the reed beetles (Donaciinae) of the Czech Republic from the years 2015 and 2016. The research from this period follows the detailed summary of data on reed beetles published by Mlejnek & Křivan (2016). This new paper mentions newly discovered localities for rare species, e.g., Donacia obscura Gyllenhal, 1813; Donacia sparganii Ahrens, 1810 or Macroplea appendiculata (Panzer, 1794), and also information linking immature stages to their host plants. This paper gives detailed descriptions of five selected wetland areas with occurrence of important bioindicator species of reed beetles. This work also provides new research results on the biology and behaviour of the species Macroplea appendiculata (Panzer, 1794) based on observation in laboratory conditions.
