Abstract: New faunistic records of some Metoecus Dejean, 1834 species from the Palaearctic Region are presented: M. satanas Schilder, 1924 is recorded from Yunnan province (China) for the first time; M. morawitzi (Semenov, 1891) is recorded from Iran for the first time along with the first reliable records from Afghanistan; the first reliable records of M. paradoxus (Linnaeus, 1760) are given from Sardinia (Italy) and Turkey. An unidentified specimen of Metoecus is reported from Sichuan province (China). Characters distinguishing M. morawitzi from M. paradoxus are briefly discussed.

The genus is redescribed and its taxonomic position is briefly discussed. Male and female genitalia of Porpacus are studied and illustrated for the first time. Lectotypes of the following species are designated: Porpacus cornirostris Boheman, 1842, P. horridus Boheman, 1842 and P. vesiculatus Marshall, 1923.

Here we add one old unpublished record, and 18 new records from 14 localities in Slovakia. All records are reviewed and mapped, and the distribution of E. ventralis in Slovakia and neighbouring countries is discussed. Records of E. ventralis from the Czech Republic are shown to be erroneous, and the species is removed from the list of the Czech fauna.

The species is apterous and possibly endemic to the Baliem valley. It is notable for its comparatively short elytra and the robust denticles filling most of the internal sac of the aedeagus. Other aedeagal characters of the new species suggest its relationship to the Papuan S. pseudofasciatum Löbl, 1975.

Antonín PřidalNew and interesting records of bees from Moravia and Slovakia with remarks to the Czech and Slovak checklist of bees (Hymenoptera: Apoidea: Apiformes)Klapalekiana 50(1–2): 73-83Abstract: The distribution of 15 bee species in the Czech Republic and Slovakia is documented and discussed. Lithurgus cornutus (Fabricius, 1787) is first recorded from the Czech Republic and Hylaeus incongruus Förster, 1871 and Evylaeus subfulvicornis (Blüthgen, 1934) are first recorded from Moravia. The occurrence of six species, Lasioglossum discum (Smith, 1853), Synhalonia hungarica (Friese, 1895), Colletes graeffei Alfken, 1900, Andrena aberrans Eversmann, 1852, A. ferox Smith, 1847 and A. susterai Alfken, 1914, is confirmed in the Czech Republic (from Moravia). Nomada melathoracica Imhoff, 1834 is added to the checklist of the Czech Republic (from Moravia). Two further species are newly registered for the Czech and Slovak bee fauna under their valid names: Megachile rotundata (Fabricius, 1787) (syn. M. pacifica (Panzer, 1798)) and Hoplitis mazzuccoi (Schwarz et Gusenleitner, 2005) (syn. H. tenuispina auct., nec (Alfken, 1937)). The first records for Moravia are given for two species that are spreading, Pyrobomus semenoviellus (Skorikov, 1910) and Heriades rubicola Pérez, 1890. The northernmost known records, from Moravia, are given for three species, Colletes graeffei Alfken, 1900, Lithurgus cornutus (Fabricius, 1787) and Heriades rubicola Pérez, 1890.

Ondřej SabolVýskyt tesaříka Ropalopus ungaricus (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) na Moravě, s poznámkami k jeho bionomiiKlapalekiana 50(1–2): 89-100Abstract: 45 records of the longhorn beetle Ropalopus ungaricus (Herbst, 1784) are presented, from nineteen localities on six mountain ranges in Moravia. Fifteen of the localities are on four mountain ranges in northern Moravia: Králický Sněžník, Rychlebské hory, Hrubý Jeseník and Nízký Jeseník, and four other localities on two mountain ranges in southern Moravia: Hostýnské vrchy and Bílé Karpaty. The species is reported for the first time from the Králický Sněžník, Rychlebské hory and Bílé Karpaty ranges. The first concrete data is provided for the Hostýnské vrchy hills. Other cases are confirmation of occurrence or new faunistic squares. Records were at altitudes from 490-1165 m. a.s.l. The host plant in all cases was Acer pseudoplatanus. Development in the trunks was typical in the stands in the Hrubý Jeseník and Nízký Jeseník ranges, while developments in thin stems and the branches of the trees was characteristic for the Hostýnské vrchy hills, and especially for shrubby stands of A. pseudoplatanus on Velká Javořina hill in the Bílé Karpaty range.

The list of records is supplemented with details about localities and plants utilised for feeding. A distribution map of B. argillaceus in Slovakia is given.
