Abstract: Brachysomus rokosensis sp. n. is described from Slovakia. The new species is distinguished from related species in a newly proposed key to the Brachysomus subnudus (Seidlitz, 1868) species-group sensu Košťál (1991). New data on the occurrence and bionomics of B. subnudus, B. dispar Penecke, 1910 and B. slovacicus Košťál, 1991 are also given.

Chrysolina (Hypericia) brunsvicensis (Gravenhorst, 1807) is new for the Czech Republic, Cryptocephalus (Burlinius) pallifrons Gyllenhal, 1813 is new for Bohemia, Cheilotoma erythrostoma (Faldermann, 1837), Cryptocephalus (Burlinius) ochroleucus Fairmaire, 1859, Galerucella aquatica (Geoffroy in Fourcroy, 1785), Galerucella kerstensi Lohse, 1989, Longitarsus obliteratoides Gruev, 1973, Psylliodes circumdatus (Redtenbacher, 1842) and Cassida leucanthemi Bordy, 1995 are new for Slovakia, Galerucella sagittariae (Gyllenhal, 1813) is confirmed in Moravia and Slovakia.

Stigmella hahniella (Wörz, 1937) is recorded for the first time and the occurrence of Ectoedemia spinosella (Joannnis, 1908) in Bohemia is confirmed after more than 40 years. Brief comments on bionomics and ecology of each species are included. At present, 74 species are known from this area.

Sciapus laetus (Meigen, 1838) is recorded as new for the Czech Republic; Hercostomus cupreus (Fallén, 1823) and H. sahlbergi (Zetterstedt, 1838) are new for Moravia. A male specimen of an unknown species was collected during the faunistic investigation and subsequently described as Sympycnus gregori Olejníček et Stark, 1999.

Old literature data as well as new recent findings are presented. Now, H. cuspidatus is known from eight localities in Moravia, one locality in northern Bohemia and it is a new species for the fauna of Bohemia. Preferred habitat of the species is discussed.

Capsus pilifer (Remane, 1950), Fieberocapsus flaveolus (Reuter, 1870), Phytocoris austriacus Wagner, 1954, Polymerus microphthalmus Wagner, 1951, Psallus anaemicus Seidenstücker, 1966, P. assimilis Stichel, 1956, P. cruentatus (Mulsant et Rey, 1852) and P. pseudoplatani Reichling, 1984 are new for the Czech Republic. Cryptostemma alienum (Herrich-Schaeffer, 1835), Europiella albipennis (Fallén, 1829), Phoenicocoris modestus (Meyer-Dür, 1843), Psallus albicinctus (Kirschbaum, 1856), P. perrisii (Mulsant et Rey, 1852) and P. wagneri Ossiannilsson, 1953 are new for Moravia, P. mollis (Mulsant et Rey, 1852) and Sciocoris homalonotus Fieber, 1851 are new for Bohemia and Arocatus longiceps Stål, 1872 is new for Slovakia. The species is currently known from seven localities in southern Moravia. It was previously reported only from one locality in the Pálava Biosphere Reserve. Six new records from 1996-2000 are presented here: four findings from the Podyjí National Park and its close surroundings and two additional findings from the Pálava Biosphere Reserve and its close surrounding. The synanthropic and non-synanthropic habitat preferences of C. lineata and Lepisma saccharina Linnaeus, 1758 in central Europe are discussed.

(Coleoptera: Geotrupidae) from GreeceKlapalekiana 37(3–4): 253-260Abstract: Lethrus (Lethrus) ares sp. n. from the Greek Thrace (Evros district) is described. The new species belongs to the species of the nominotypical subgenus having anterior pronotal angles evenly arcuate (not projecting considerably anteriad) and lacking subbasal tooth of ventral mandible process in males. It is compared with closely related species L. (L.) raymondi Reitter, 1890 and L. (L.) rotundicollis Fairmaire, 1866. Relevant diagnostic characters (ventral mandible process in male), and external male genitalia of the new species are illustrated. The distribution of the new species is mapped.

Ptenidium laevigatum Erichson, 1845 and Baeocrara variolosa (Mulsant et Rey, 1867) are reported for the first time from Bohemia, Acrotrichis intermedia (Gillmeister, 1845) is reported for the first time from Moravia. Findings of Baeocrara japonica (Matthews, 1884) and Acrotrichis rosskotheni Sundt, 1971 from Moravia represent the first records for the Czech Republic. The male and female genitalia are illustrated for A. rosskotheni and A. intermedia.

Altogether 103 species of aquatic beetles from the families Gyrinidae, Haliplidae, Noteridae, Dytiscidae, Helophoridae, Hydrochidae, Spercheidae, Hydrophilidae, Hydraenidae, Dryopidae and Heteroceridae are presently known from the Danube delta.
