Abstract: Haptomerus ibericus sp. nov. is described and illustrated. The new species represents the first record of the genus Haptomerus Faust, 1889 from the Iberian Peninsula. A key to both European species of Haptomerus is given.

Abstract: Sciaphobus (Neosciaphobus) messutati sp. nov. and Pelletierellus holecovae sp. nov. (Curculionidae: Entiminae) from Albania are described and illustrated. The morphological relationships of both new species to all their related taxa are emphasised. Microhabitats and the stenotopic character of both species, having the same locus typicus are discussed. Both species were collected in a subalpine meadow at elevation of 1 900 m by general sweeping and sifting of litter under perennial vegetation.

Abstract: Among the huge variety of insects, only a small number of species are capable of active lifestyles during the winter period. This paper give results of a detailed survey of the winter insect fauna collected by hand on snow in January and February 2021 in the westernmost Czech Republic. A total of 31 insect species (Coleoptera 3 spp., Diptera 27 spp. and Mecoptera 1 taxon) are recorded. In addition to taxa already known to occur on snow, at least 10 other species with the same behaviour are reported. Chionea botosaneanui (Burghele-Bălăcesco, 1969) (Diptera: Limoniidae) is recorded from Bohemia for the first time; two other species, Copromyza neglecta (Malloch, 1913) and Ischiolepta denticulata (Meigen, 1830) (both Diptera: Sphaeroceridae), are known from a few records in the Czech Republic and classified as vulnerable (VU) species in the country. In Coleoptera, Rabocerus gabrieli (Gerhardt, 1901) (Salpingidae) is a rare and endangered (EN) species in the Czech Republic.

Abstract: Psarus abdominalis (Fabricius, 1794) is a rare and declining species of hoverfly (Diptera: Syrphidae) endemic to Europe. In the Czech Republic, the species is classified as critically endangered. Based on specimens deposited in museum collections, I provide information on the historical distribution of the species in the country. Psarus abdominalis was not recorded in the Czech Republic since 1978. Recently, in 2021, a single male of P. abdominalis was recorded on southern Moravia (in an oak forest near the village of Mutěnice). Detailed information on the record is provided here.

Abstract: The relatively rare assassin bug Nagusta goedelii (Kolenati, 1857) is rediscovered in Slovakia after 49 years, in Romania after 54 years, and reported from Syria and Jordan for the first time. Some additional records from Hungary and Greece (including the first records from Lesvos, Rhodos and Samos), and a chronological overview of all known Slovak and Romanian records are provided. Repeated observations of this species in Bratislava (Slovakia) between 2015-2020 suggest the presence of an established population in urbanised areas of the city, most probably as result of natural expansion. Another observations from Nitra (Slovakia) in 2020 and Piešťany (Slovakia) in 2021 indicate the probability of further extension of N. goedelii over a large part of the Danube Lowland. Here we discuss the possibility of synantropic behaviour of by this species.

Abstract: All available records of Mymaromma anomalum (Blood et Kryger, 1922) (Hymenoptera: Mymarommatidae) from the Czech Republic are reviewed. The occurrence of this species in Bohemia is confirmed and its occurrence in Moravia is published for the first time. Mymaromma anomalum has been found throughout the Czech Republic. Collecting sites range from lowlands to highlands (215-595 m a. s. l.) but its presence in Scandinavia suggests in may also occur at higher altitudes in the Czech mountains. We propose to include this species as "least concern" in the Red List of the Czech Republic.

Abstract: Urophorus (Anophorus) humeralis (Fabricius, 1798), a cosmopolitan nitidulid beetle of South Asian origin, was found in a Prague supermarket in a lettuce (Lactuca sativa var. capitata) imported from Spain. Although this finding merely represents a non-established introduction, we point out a mechanism of the species' spread, as the acclimatization of imported Urophorus Murray, 1864 specimens in the Czech Republic is highly probable. The species is briefly diagnosed and illustrated, to draw attention to it and facilitate the monitoring of its possible future occurrence in the Czech Republic.

Abstract: Acylomus stanovskyi, Olibrosoma orszuliki and Olibrus omanicus spp. nov. from Oman are described and distinguished from similar species. Pseudolibrus gestroi Flach, 1889 and Stilbus sharpi (Guillebeau, 1892) are reported from Oman and S. sharpi also from the Arabian Peninsula for the first time. A key to determine the species known from the Arabian Peninsula is provided.
