Abstract: Three endangered species of Mordellidae beetles, recorded in the most recent edition of The Red List of Threatened species of the Czech Republic - Invertebrates, are reported from Bohemia. Conalia baudii Mulsant et Rey, 1858 and Mordellaria aurofasciata (Comolli, 1837) are reported from the territory for the first time, and new records and bionomical notes for the rarely encountered species Curtimorda bisignata (L. Redtenbacher, 1849) are provided. All three species represent xylomycetophagous elements associated with polyporous fungi and old decayed wood.

Abstract: In recent decades, some previously rare or non-native species of plants and animals have spread in the Czech Republic. One of them is the white spotted rose beetle Oxythyrea funesta (Poda von Neuhaus, 1761) (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Cetoniinae). This previously very rare species occured historically only in southern Moravia, but is today very abundant throughout the Czech Republic. We summarize the knowledge of the history of its spread in the Příbram and Sedlčany regions in Central Bohemia. The species was first recorded on May 16, 1999 in the Týnčany Karst, followed by rapid expansion in the region after 2000.

Abstract: The results of a short-term faunistic survey of beetles (Coleoptera) of the significant landscape component Mateřídoušková step Brod near Příbram in Central Bohemia (Czech Republic) are presented. The locality represents a remnant of a former mine shaft, and is situated in an area of industrial brownfields. The study area covers only about 1.8 ha of the significant landscape component and is important mainly for its butterfly fauna. Today, the area is covered with a dry steppe habitat with scattered trees and shrubs. The main habitat management activity is grazing by sheep. The beetle fauna was surveyed from 2007 to 2017. In total, we confirmed 276 species of beetles from 28 families. We observed these rare or protected species: Agrilus subauratus Gebler, 1833, Coraebus elatus (Fabricius, 1787) (both Buprestidae), Brachinus crepitans (Linnaeus, 1758) (Carabidae), Oxythyrea funesta (Poda von Neuhaus, 1761) (Scarabaeidae), Coptocephala rubicunda (Laicharting, 1781) (Chrysomelidae). Due to a small area and relative habitat homogeneity, the species richness is relatively low compared to larger protected areas nearby. However, the locality hosts several xerothermophilous beetle species and it is important for their metapopulation dynamics in steppe habitats around the town of Příbram.

Abstract: In this paper, findings of Euplectus frater Besuchet, 1964 from Albania, Czech Republic, Greece, Montenegro and Slovakia are presented. The species is recorded for the first time for Albania and the Czech Republic. The presence of Euplectus linderi Reitter, 1884 in Slovakia is discussed, and refuted.

Abstract: The pseudoscorpion Allochernes solarii (Simon, 1898) is reported from the Czech Republic for the first time. This new record is based on one male and one female from pitfall traps installed at two close localities in Podyjí National park. Additionally, a morphological description of the specimens of this northernmost record is provided.

Abstract: The whirligig beetle Gyrinus natator (Linnaeus, 1758) is newly recorded from a stream in the Břehyně-Pecopala National Nature Reserve (North Bohemia), which confirms the occurrence of this species in the Czech Republic. The main features according to which it can be reliably distinguished from the very similar species Gyrinus substriatus Stephens, 1828 are presented. Its habitat requirements in Central Europe are discussed. Gyrinus natator is newly classified as critically endangered in the Red List of Endangered Species of the Czech Republic.

Abstract: New distributional data and confirmed occurrence of six species of darkling beetles (Tenebrionidae) from North Macedonia and Albania are given. Adelina turcica (Reitter, 1877), Allecula morio Fabricius, 1787, Crypticus quisquilius quisquilius (Linnaeus, 1760), and Pedinus oblongus Mulsant et Rey, 1853 are recorded from North Macedonia for the first time. The presence of Euboeus mimonti Boieldieu, 1865 in North Macedonia and Omophlus lepturoides (Fabricius, 1787) in Albania is confirmed.

Abstract: An experimental bed of dill Anethum graveolens (Apiaceae) was established in Šumice village (near Uherský Brod city, Czech Republic) in 2011, to test the hypothesis that dill is the host plant of Ophonus (Metophonus) subsinuatus Rey, 1886. The beetle was found to have a probable monophagous association with this plant. In subsequent breeding in outdoor conditions, it was verified that the entire larval development takes place on dill seeds. Species overwinter as a 3rd instar larva in an underground chamber, in which they also pupate during June. Adults eclose from the beginning of June, synchronized with the maturation of the first seeds of the host plant. Adults are predominantly nocturnal. The main activity period is from June to the end of September. The origin and distribution of dill, which is a non-native plant in Central Europe but has been cultivated since the early Middle Ages, is discussed. The paper also summarizes the existing published and unpublished data on the beetle's distribution in Central Europe (Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Germany) and presents the first records for Austria. The authors assume that this species will be found in other countries with a tradition of dill growing.
