Abstract: This checklist summarizes the occurrence of harvestmen in the Czech Republic, including their presence in the neighbouring countries. A total of 34 species in 20 genera, six families and two orders are currently known in the Czech Republic. The paper includes a list of all synonyms for each taxon known in the Czech Republic, remarks on doubtful records, and comments on 12 species that might be found here in the future.

Abstract: An interesting record of the thermophilic species Calamobius filum (Rossi, 1790) in the Czech Republic is presented. The new locality, ca 5 km south of the town of Moravská Třebová, is relatively cold and lies near to Bohemia.

Abstract: The following six new species of the subgenus Pseudoleirides Kryzhanovskij, 1968 of the genus Amara Bonelli, 1810 from Iran are described, illustrated and compared with closely related species: A. (P.) escalerai sp. n., A. (P.) hamadanensis sp. n., A. (P.) kermanensis sp. n., A. (P.) khorramabadensis sp. n., A. (P.) shirazica sp. n., and A. (P.) yasujensis sp. n. The new species live in the mountains at 2000-4000 m a.s.l. (alpine occurrence is only supposed in A. shirazica sp. n.). The type series of the new species are small, only 1-5 specimens each. The specific name of A. (P.) loeffleri Jedlička, 1963 is restored from the subspecific to full species rank (status restitutus). All known Iranian species of the subgenus Pseudoleirides are reviewed and keyed.

Abstract: New and interesting records of true bugs (Heteroptera) in the Czech Republic and Slovakia are reported. Stephanitis (Stephanitis) takeyai Drake et Maa, 1955, Phytocoris (Phytocoris) hirsutulus Flor, 1861, and Psallus (Apocremnus) aethiops (Zetterstedt, 1838) are new for the Czech Republic, Corythucha ciliata (Say, 1832), Macrolophus rubi Woodroffe, 1957, Macrotylus solitarius (Meyer-Dür, 1843), Tuponia (Chlorotuponia) hippophaes (Fieber, 1861), and Tuponia (Tuponia) elegans (Jakovlev, 1867) are new for Bohemia, and Pachycoleus pusillimus (J. Sahlberg, 1870) and Deraeocoris (Deraeocoris) flavilinea (A. Costa, 1862) are new for Moravia. Tuponia (Tuponia) macedonica Wagner, 1957 is reported as new for Slovakia and central Europe. Occurrence of Psallus (Apocremnus) betuleti (Fallén, 1826) in Moravia is confirmed. All previous records of Coranus (Coranus) woodroffei P. V. Putshkov, 1982 from Moravia and Slovakia belong to C. (C.) aethiops Jakovlev, 1893, which is thus a new species for Moravia and Slovakia. Additional records of Stephanitis (Stephanitis) pyri (Fabricius, 1775), Acetropis (Acetropis) longirostris Puton, 1875, Dichrooscytus gustavi Josifov, 1981, Psallus (Apocremnus) montanus Josifov, 1973, Amphiareus obscuriceps (Poppius, 1909), Oxycarenus (Oxycarenus) lavaterae (Fabricius, 1787), Leptoglossus occidentalis Heidemann, 1910, Megalotomus junceus (Scopoli, 1763), Liorhyssus hyalinus (Fabricius, 1794), Thyreocoris fulvipennis (Dallas, 1851), and Chlorochroa (Rhytidolomia) juniperina juniperina (Linnaeus, 1758) are presented. The following new host plants are given: Stachys alpina for Macrotylus solitarius and Thuja occidentalis for Chlorochroa juniperina.

Abstract: The turbidus group of the nominotypic subgenus of the genus Philonthus Stephens, 1829, is revised. The group comprises 11 Afrotropical species. Five of them are described as new: Philonthus (s. str.) camelus sp. n. (Tanzania: Kilimandjaro), Philonthus (s. str.) pan sp. n. (Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, Republic of South Africa, and Zambia), Philonthus (s. str.) papio sp. n. (Republic of Guinea), Philonthus (s. str.) psittacus sp. n. (Zambia), and Philonthus (s. str.) xerus sp. n. (Sudan). The remaining six species are redescribed: P. (s. str.) bulbifer Tottenham, 1956, P. (s. str.) musurus Tottenham, 1956, P. (s. str.) ramosus Levasseur, 1968, P. (s. str.) stysi Hromádka, 1980, P. (s. str.) tumulinus Tottenham, 1955, and P. (s. str.) turbidus Erichson, 1840. The male genitalia of all species and morphological details of some species are illustrated and identification keys to all species are provided.

Abstract: Altogether 307 species from 35 families were found during a survey of beetles (Coleoptera) in the Litovelské Pomoraví Protected Landscape Area in 2006. Four of them are protected by law in the Czech Republic (Brachinus explodens Duftschmid, Calosoma inquisitor (L.), Carabus scheidleri scheidleri Panzer, and C. ullrichi ullrichi Germar; all Carabidae) and additional 15 are included in the Red list of threatened species of the Czech Republic. The following interesting rare species were also recorded: Leptura annularis Fabricius, 1801 (Cerambycidae), and Paratachys fulvicollis (Dejean, 1831) (Carabidae).

Abstract: A list of 25 species of Silphidae of the Baikal Region is given. Records of 23 of them are supported by voucher specimens. Nicrophorus quadraticollis Portevin, 1903 is a new species for the fauna of Cisbaikalia; N. vestigator Herschel, 1807 is new for the fauna of Transbaikalia. Additional material of Necrodes littoralis (Linnaeus, 1758), Silpha carinata Herbst, 1783, S. perforata Gebler, 1832, and Thanatophilus sinuatus Fabricius, 1775 represent the first records from West Siberia.
