Abstract: The tenthredinid leaf-mining sawfly Pseudodineura parvula (Klug, 1816) is recorded for the first time from Slovakia. It was found in the Nature Reserve of Devínska Kobyla hill in south-western Slovakia.

Abstract: Acrocormus semifasciatus Thomson, 1878, is recorded in the Czech Republic for the first time, based on specimens from Moravia. The bark beetle Scolytus carpini Chapuis, 1869 (Coleoptera: Scolytidae) is reported as its new host, and hence the species is associated with hornbeam (Carpinus betulus) for the first time.

Abstract: The first records of nine species of the Ptiliidae from the Czech Republic are reported and the occurrence of two previously doubtful species is further confirmed. Ptenidium intermedium Wankowicz, 1869, P. reitteri Flach, 1887, Ptilium modestum Wankowicz, 1869, Acrotrichis danica Sundt, 1958, A. sitkaensis (Motschulsky, 1845), all from Moravia, Acrotrichis cognata (Matthews, 1877) and A. rugulosa Rosskothen, 1935, from Bohemia, Acrotrichis insularis (Mäklin, 1852), and A. silvatica Rosskothen, 1935, from Moravia and Bohemia, represent new records for the Czech Republic. Micridium halidaii (Matthews, 1868), M. vittatum (Motschulsky, 1845), and Nephanes titan (Newman, 1834) are reported for the first time from Moravia. The occurrence of Ptenidium laevigatum Erichson, 1845, and Acrotrichis dispar (Matthews, 1865) are confirmed in Moravia. The latter record also represents the first reliable data from the Czech Republic.

Abstract: The pupae of the following three western Palaearctic species of the Noctuidae (subfamily Heliothinae) are described: Chazaria incarnata (Freyer, 1828), Pyrrhia victorina (Sodoffski, 1849), and Brithys crini (Fabricius, 1775). The main morphological characters are illustrated and compared with related noctuid moth species, and the differences are discussed. The systematic status and position of described species in currently used systems is also discussed from the point of view of morphology of their pupae.

Abstract: Rhagonycha fugax fugax Mannerheim, 1843, is reported as new for the fauna of Moravia and its occurrence in the Czech Republic is confirmed. All published distributional data of this subspecies are reviewed and discussed. The ecological preferences of R. fugax fugax and its relict, discontinuous distribution are mentioned.

Abstract: This paper summarizes records of 38 species of Hymenoptera from six families collected in the Brdy hills and the Střední Povltaví region during the "Entomological Days 2005" meeting of the Czech Entomological Society on May 27-29, 2005.
