Abstract: In this contribution the records of 71 rare or little known species of the family Chrysomelidae from Bohemia, Moravia and Slovakia are given. Cryptocephalus planifrons Weise, 1882 is new for Slovakia, Chrysolina reitteri (Weise, 1884), Chrysolina didymata (Scriba, 1791) and Chaetocnema major Jacquelin du Vai, 1852 are the first confirmed records from Slovakia.

Ectamenogonus montandoni (Buysson, 1 888) is a new species for the territory of the Czech Republic. The occurrence of a further species Ampedus (Brachygonus) bouyoni Chassain, 1992 is supposed. A key to the all above taxa is provided. The main part of the taxonomical data, the ground part of the key and the illustrations have been adopted from the papers of Chassain (1992a, 1992b).

The relation between the species Leptidea sinapis (Linnaeus, 1758) and Leptidea reali in the material from southern Moravia and western Slovakia corresponds to about 4:1. The species specific characters given by Lorkovič (1993) are confirmed.

Cordulegaster boltoni (Odonata), Isoperla goertzi. Leuctra alpina (Plecoptera), Glaenocorisa propinqua propinqua, Cymatia bonsdorffi, Notonecta obliqua, N. maculata. N. lutea and N. reuteri (Heteroptera: Nepomorpha). In most cases, our ecological knowl-edge of these species is completed by new observations. Microsporidian species Trichoduboscqia epeon' parasiting internal organs of larvae of Rhithrogena hercynia was found at three localities as new for Central Europe. The Šumava Mountains (= Böhmerwald or Bohemian Forest) is characterized as the most valuable faunal refuge in the Elbe basin combining distributional patterns of aquatic insects with nearly all the types of the Palaearctic areas.

The author found H. morpheus near Jestřebí (5353), northern Bohemia, approx. 10 km SE from Česká Lipa on July 1993. The population seems to be small and isolated. From ecological point of view, the Bohemian colony of H. morpheus is closely related to the hygrophilous populations of this species as they live in northern Germany.

The question of periodical common occurrence in Slovakia is discussed. Brachims incertus Brullé, 1834 is recorded as new for Slovakia.

Relative numerous populations were discovered here in 1990–1993. The beetles have been observed on various flowers in forest glades and around the forest tracks.
