Several other records are briefly discussed.

Abstract: Pseudoscorpions deposited in the zoological collections of the Museum of Natural History, University of Wroclaw, Poland were studied. Specimens were sifted from leaf litter in forests in the Carpathians, South East Poland, at altitudes from 340 to 640 m a.s.l. 511 specimens of 10 taxa and three families were identified. The most numerous family was Neobisiidae (472 specimens, six taxa), the families Chthoniidae (31 specimens, three species) and Chernetidae (8 specimens, one species) were less abundant. General comments are given on finds and distribution of each taxon. Of the species recorded, two were of exclusively Carpathian distribution: Mundochthonius carpaticus Rafalski, 1948 and Neobisium polonicum Rafalski, 1936. From a faunistic point of view, the finding of Chthonius ischnocheles (Hermann, 1804), quite a rare species for Poland, is of interest.

Abstract: We report here the first finding of the Southern Green Stink Bug, Nezara viridula (Linnaeus, 1758), (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) in the Czech Republic. A single female was found in Drnholec (southern Moravia) under the bonnet of a car standing in front of a garage. We cannot exclude the possibility that the specimen was imported accidentally from Hungary. We cannot yet confirm N. viridula as an established species in our country.

Abstract: The first record of an adventive species Mioptachys flavicauda (Say, 1823) (Coleoptera: Carabidae: Bembidiini: Xystosomina) from the Czech Republic and Europe is presented. A specimen was collected at one locality in the Czech Republic (the Chateau Park near the village of Krásný Dvůr, Podbořany environs) where it was attracted to UV light (light-trapped). Mioptachys flavicauda originates from the Nearctic Region, where it lives under the bark of trees, like the related European autochthonous species Tachyta nana nana (Gyllenhal, 1810). Since American species of trees were imported into the park in the 18th and 19th centuries, it cannot be ruled out that the specimen found comes from a viable local population. Mioptachys flavicauda differs from T. nana nana by the following features: the antennae are shorter, the fourth to tenth antennomeres are as wide as long (moniliform), it has a considerably broader pronotal margin, the elytra are obliquely truncate before the apex, brown with the apical third usually lighter, and the body is only two-thirds of the length.

Abstract: The small-scale protected area Placy - Černé bláto near Příbram (Central Bohemia) was established in 2008 to preserve large populations of the Marsh Gentian (Gentiana pneumonanthe) and the Alcon Large Blue butterfly (Maculinea alcon alcon Denis et Schiffermüller, 1775). The protected area comprises about 2.9 ha, and is a part of a larger complex of wet meadows surrounded by large forests. The meadows were historically used for production of charcoal. In the second half of the 20th Century, the meadows were used as a military shooting training area. Since the 1990s, the meadows have been abandoned and were partly afforested. This situation changed with a change of ownership in 2012; the new owner deforested the area, began mosaic mowing of the meadows, and intended to renew the sport shooting area. This study summarizes the results of a survey of the beetle fauna of the locality, conducted occasionally since 1981. In total, we have confirmed 250 species of beetles of 33 genera, based on 321 records. Another fifteen species are known only from historical data. The range of species corresponds to the common fauna of wet, and also partly dry, meadows. A significant proportion of the fauna is associated with pine forests and forest edges.
