Abstrakt: The life history of the larvae of Coleophora pratella Zeller, 1871 on samaras
of Bistorta major in western Bohemia is described. The larvae live inside the
samara, and after its falling down the larvae bite through the samara out and
build their own tubular, 7 mm long silk case. The larvae are observed to need
only one samara for its development.
