Abstract: The discovery of Cheirotonus jansoni (Jordan, 1898) from the Tam Dao Mts. in northern Vietnam is the southernmost record of the species. C. parryi Gray, 1848 is newly recorded from Vietnam and it is associated with the lowland rain forest. Both species are extremely endangered by destruction of tropical forests.

Abstract: Dyschirius buglanensis sp. n. from Turkey and Dyschirius chalybeus resli ssp. n. from Turkey and Israel are described, illustrated and compared with related taxa. Literature data are reviewed and new findings of Dyschirius Bonelli, 1810 species from Turkey are given. The species D. humiolcus Chaudoir, 1850, D. zimini Znojko, 1928, D. latipennis Seidlitz, 1867, D. euxinus Znojko, 1927, D. microthorax Motschulsky, 1844 and D. parallelus Motschulsky, 1844 are reported from Turkey for the first time.

Abstract: A large population of a xerophilous podopine species, Ancyrosoma leucogrammes (Gmelin, 1789) (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae: Podopinae), was found in southern Slovakia, on southeastern slopes of xerothermic hills (Belianské kopce) near Štúrovo. The specimens represent the first report of this species since 1963, the first discovery of an abundant population, and verification of the occurrence of this podopine in Slovakia as well. Torilis arvensis (Hudson) Link (Apiaceae) was confirmed to be a host plant of A. leucogrammes.

Abstract: The second discovery of species Neobisium (Blothrus) slovacum (Gulička, 1977) from the Brzotin cave in the Slovac Republic is described. Such a discovery is significant proof of the expansion of the eutroglobiont pseudoscorpion fauna in the northern territory of the West Carpathian Mountains. This is the most northern fund of subgenus Blothrus Schiödte, 1847 hitherto known. The basic morphological data, are compared with the original description of the species.

Abstract: Cidnopus platiai sp. n. from East Slovakia is described, illustrated and compared with C. aeruginosus (Olivier, 1790) and C. rusenae (Laibner, 1977). Cidnopus rusenae is compared with C. aeruginosus f. limbatus (Stiller, 1926). A key to the known European species of the genus Cidnopus Thomson, 1859 is given. The key is based on Cate & Platia (1989).

Abstract: Thirty one beetle species (Coleoptera) were found in the rock debris of the Plešivec hill (České středohoří Protected Landscape Area, northern Bohemia), in 1993. Modified pitfail traps baited with fish meat and ripened cheese, located near the debris surface were used. The relict cold-adapted species Pterostichus negligens (Sturm, 1824) (Carabidae) was present only in ice hollows at the base of the western slope; the psychrophilic small carrion beetle Choleva nivalis (Kraatz, 1856) (Leiodidae: Cholevinae) was found at the same place and also on the northeastern slope. Thermo- and xerophilic species were found at warm top part: Nargus wilkini (Spence, 1815) (Leiodidae: Cholevinae), Trox scaber (Linneaus, 1767) (Trogidae), Dermestes undulatus Brahm, 1790, D. murinus Linneaus, 1758 (both Dermestidae) and Ptinus schlerethi Reitter, 1884 (Ptinidae). Using the coefficient of Sorensen and UPGMA, cluster analysis of traps’ similarity is provided.

Abstract: Results of the faunistic research of the phytophagous beetles of the families Chrysomelidae s. lat., Bruchidae, Urodontidae, Anthribidae and Curculionidae s. lat. from six localities from environs of Veltrusy (central Bohemia) are presented. The project is situated to the route of the planned motorway and its close environs. A systematic list of 338 beetle species is given; followed with a review of individual plant species examined together with a beetle hosts found. The beetles are split into three categories (R - relicts, T - typical and E - expansive).
