Abstract: An updated check-list of Slovakian leaf-beetles is presented. Altogether two species of Orsodacnidae, three species of Megalopodidae, and 567 species of Chrysomelidae are confirmed in Slovakia. The occurrence of further 23 species/subspecies is listed as doubtful in Slovakia. The following species or subspecies: Labidostomis axillaris (Lacordaire, 1848), Cryptocephalus aureolus Suffrian, 1847, C. distinguendus Schneider, 1792, C. variegatus Fabricius, 1782, Prasocuris hannoveriana (Fabricius, 1775), Chrysolina asclepiadis bohemica (Müller, 1948), Oreina alpestris bannatica (Suffrian, 1851), Euluperus xanthopus xanthopus (Duftschmid, 1825), Galeruca interrupta (Illiger, 1802), G. jucunda (Faldermann, 1837), Luperus saxonicus (Gmelin, 1790), Apteropeda orbiculata (Marsham, 1802), and A. splendida Allard, 1860 are verified as occurring in Slovakia.

Abstract: Stuebenius formaneki sp. nov. from the Republic of North Macedonia is described and illustrated. New faunistic records for the Republic of North Macedonia are presented for the species Trachyphloeus laticollis Boheman, 1842 and Pelleterielus hellenicus (Borovec, 1988). An identification key to all Stuebenius species is given.

Abstract: We report recent records (including a mass occurrence) of Endecatomus reticulatus (Herbst, 1793) in Slovakia. This species has been known only from isolated sporadic findings and is regarded as a first class indicator of pristine forest. It may be found under bark and in fissures on dead wood infested with rare saproxylic fungi, especially of the genus Inonotus.

Abstract: Cryptamorpha desjardinsii (Guérin-Méneville, 1844), a cosmopolitan silvanid beetle, was found in a tropical house in the Prague ZOO. Larvae, pupae and adults were collected from the axils of dying, mouldy leaves of areca palm trees (Areca catechu) imported from Malaysia. All recorded stages are illustrated. The length of the larval urogomphi is discussed: contrary to a statement by Thomas (1988), the urogomphi of C. desjardinsii are long, distinctly longer than abdominal segment X. The species is recorded for the first time from Bohemia.

Abstract: Two new Amara Bonelli, 1810 of the subgenus Pseudoleirides Kryzhanovskij, 1968 are described and compared with closely related species: Amara (P.) muilwijki sp. nov. and A. (P.) oshtoranensis sp. nov. Amara (P.) oshtoranensis sp. nov. is the first Pseudoleirides species with three pairs of lateral setae on the pronotum. The new species occur at high altitude (ca. 3000-3600 m a.s.l.) in the Zagros Mountains (Iran). Amara (P.) shirazica Hejkal, 2008 is redescribed, based on the first known male specimen.

Abstract: The first country record of Amphimallon burmeisteri Brenske, 1886 (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Melolonthinae) for the Czech Republic, and further records of this species from Slovakia and Austria are presented. A map with Central European records of the species is compiled. The most important differences between A. burmeisteri and the closely related species A. assimile (Herbst, 1790), with which it is often confused, are summarized.

Abstract: This study is focused on the long-term mapping of Lepidoptera in north Slovakia - the Kysuce Region. A complete list of the species observed during the period 2012-2016 is presented. The study includes data on the superfamily Papilionoidea collected from ten transects. Sixty-seven species belonging to six superfamilies were recorded. The presence of Libythea celtis (Laicharting in Fuessly, 1782) was recorded in the Kysuce Region for the first time. Moreover, species from the European Red List Argynnis niobe (Linnaeus, 1758), Limenitis populi (Linnaeus, 1758) and Melitaea diamina (Lang, 1789) were noted.

Abstract: Interesting distributional records of carrion beetles (Coleoptera: Silphidae) from Bangladesh, India and Nepal are provided and discussed. First records are presented of the following species from the respective states/union territories: Necrophila (Calosilpha) ioptera (Kollar et L. Redtenbacher, 1844) (Bangladesh), Necrophila (Deutosilpha) rufithorax (Wiedemann, 1823) (India: Andhra Pradesh, Assam and Tamil Nadu), Nicrophorus (Nicrophorus) nepalensis Hope, 1831 (India: Manipur), Thanatophilus pilosus (Jakovlev, 1889) (Nepal) and T. roborowskyi (Jakovlev, 1887) (India: Jammu and Kashmir). The first precise records are given for T. dentiger (A. P. Semenov, 1890) (India: Jammu and Kashmir) and T. minutus Kraatz, 1876 (Nepal); both species have been listed from the respective states (but without more detailed localities) in the 2015 edition of the Catalogue of Palaearctic Coleoptera, Volume 2.

Abstract: Megachile (Chalicodoma) parietina (Geoffroy, 1785) is a rare and very endangered dauber bee species in Central Europe. During the last 20 years, it has only been reported from two areas in the Czech Republic. During the summer of 2019 we found a large population in the Mokrá active limestone quarry. The abundance of this species, in the context of its bionomics, seems to be related to the mining activities in the large limestone quarry with many types of artificial biotopes, which serve as a suitable secondary habitat for its survival.
