Abstract: This paper presents the first record of Dendroleon pantherinus (Fabricius, 1787) from Bohemia. A single specimen was observed in Dneboh village near Mnichovo Hradiště in central Bohemia on 27th July 2018.

Ptiliola flammifera (Młynarski, 1985) and Ptilium scrutandum Besuchet, 1971 are reported for the first time from the Czech Republic. Acrotrichis pumila (Erichson, 1845) and Ptiliolum (Euptilium) schwarzi (Flach, 1887) are reported for the first time from Bohemia. Acrotrichis brevipennis (Erichson, 1845) is reported for the first time from Moravia. Baeocrara variolosa (Mulsant et Rey, 1861) and Acrotrichis parva Rosskothen, 1935 are confirmed from Moravia. Acrotrichis arnoldi Rosskothen, 1935 and Ptiliola brevicollis (Matthews, 1860) are reported for the first time from Slovakia. Differences in external morphology in Ptiliola flammifera and P. kunzei (Heer, 1841) are described and documented using scanning electron microscope photographs, based on material from the Czech Republic.
Jiří HadravaPrvní záznam pestřenky Callicera rufa (Diptera: Syrphidae) v České republiceKlapalekiana 55(1–2): 15-21Abstract: Callicera rufa Schummel, 1842 (Diptera: Syrphidae) was found on sand dune near Vlkov (Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area, South Bohemia). This is the first record of C. rufa from the Czech Republic. An adult female was found sitting on the cut trunk of an old pine tree (Pinus sylvestris) with broken branches. Some previously published information on the biology and conservation status of C. rufa are reviewed here.

Amara (P.) rutjani Muilwijk et Hejkal sp. nov. is the first Pseudoleirides species with setose elytra. All new species live at high altitude (ca. 2550–3700 m a.s.l.) in the Zagros Mountains (Iran).

Ján Kollár & Jozef CunevResults of faunistic research on the beetles (Coleoptera) of Mlyňany ArboretumKlapalekiana 55(1–2): 41-72Abstract: Faunistic research on beetles (Coleoptera) was carried out between 2013 and 2015 at the Mlyňany Arboretum in Nitriansky kraj region in Slovakia. Specimens were collected weekly, by individual sampling (hand collecting), pitfall and hanging intercept traps, sweeping, beating and blacklighting on canvas. The survey focused only on producing a faunistic inventory of the species of beetles (Coleoptera); other insect groups were not evaluated. The material collected was evaluated ecosozologically according to the red list of beetles (Coleoptera) of Slovakia. During the faunistic research, 604 species of beetles were found belonging to 58 families. The most numerous families were Curculionidae (108 species) and Staphylinidae (64 species). Faunistically interesting species include Opanthribus tessellatus (Boheman, 1829) (Anthribidae), Scobicia chevrieri (A. Villa et J. B. Villa, 1835) (Bostrichidae), Nanophyes brevis Boheman, 1845 (Brentidae), Prionus coriarius (Linnaeus, 1758) (Cerambycidae), Hypera striata (Boheman, 1834), Orchestes subfasciatus (Gyllenhal, 1836) (Curculionidae), Porthmidius austriacus (Schrank, 1781), Stenagostus rufus (De Geer, 1774) (Elateridae), Triplax lepida (Faldermann, 1837) (Erotylidae), Hydrophilus piceus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Hydrophilidae), Bruchidius siliquastri Delobel, 2007 (Chrysomelidae), Laemophloeus monilis (Fabricius, 1787) (Laemophloeidae), Lucanus cervus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Lucanidae), Lytta vesicatoria (Linnaeus, 1758) (Meloidae), Oryctes nasicornis (Linnaeus, 1758), Protaetia aeruginosa (Linnaeus, 1767) (Scarabaeidae), Abemus chloropterus (Panzer, 1796), Hesperus rufipennis (Gravenhorst, 1802) (Staphylinidae), Tenebroides fuscus (Goeze, 1777) (Trogossitidae), Diodesma subterranea Latreille, 1829, Synchita mediolanensis A. Villa et J. B. Villa, 1833 (Zopheridae). According to the ecosozological classification, of those with a status, one species is listed as endangered, fifteen species are vulnerable, five species are near threatened and one species is listed as least concern.

Bisnius noualhieri, recorded in error from Moravia, Czech Republic, by Vávra et al. (2017: 425) occurs only in Algeria and Morocco.

It is an alien species in Europe, introduced from North America. Larvae damage vegetative tips of various species of the genus Vaccinium. It is a potential pest of commercial Vaccinium crops.
Stanislav Urban, Ondřej Sedláček & David SommerBrouci (Coleoptera) Významného krajinného prvku Motýlí step Pichce u PříbramiKlapalekiana 55(1–2): 93-128Abstract: We summarize the results of a faunistic survey of the beetles (Coleoptera) of the significant landscape component Motýlí step Pichce ("Pichce butterfly steppe") near Příbram, Central Bohemia. The study area of about 20 ha (10 ha is included in the significant landscape component) includes heterogeneous habitat, a mosaic of marshlands, grasslands, steppes, open broadleaved woodlands and coniferous forests. The beetle fauna was surveyed during two periods – before 1998 and after 2009. In total, we have confirmed 481 species of beetles from 46 families. The study area is the only known locality for the ground beetle Cymindis angularis (Gyllenhal, 1810) and the anthribid Allandrus undulatus (Panzer, 1795) in the Příbram region. The first record of the longhorn beetle Calamobius filum (Rossi, 1790) in the region documents the northward spread of this species. The study area hosts stable populations of two obligatory heathland specialists – the heather beetle (Lochmaea suturalis (C. G. Thomson, 1866)) and the small heather weevil (Micrelus ericae (Gyllenhal, 1813)). Ongoing succession has led to the disappearance of two heathland specialists, including the ground beetle Bradycellus ruficollis (Stephens, 1828. In total, 63 species of ground beetles (Carabidae) have been recorded in the study area, 30 species were recorded only before 1998, 17 only after 2009. The dominance of xerotherm beetle species confined to open steppe habitats supports the view of the area as a regional corridor connecting the warm environments of Berounka River and Vltava River. Eleven years of management activities in the area have led to partial restoration and enlargement of the habitats of conservation importance – mainly open marshlands and grasslands. However, a longer period is needed for a significant recovery of the original ecological value of the degraded habitats.

L. Koch, 1843) in Brno (Czech Republic). This is the first host record, and confirmation of the species' arachnophily, in Central Europe.
